Rear End Collison: Verdict $71,346
Katie’s Toyota Scion was rear-ended by defendant’s Ford F 150 while at a complete stop. Katie’s car was towed and she later went to the emergency room. Defendant admitted liability. However, defendant vigorously disputed the necessity of chiropractic care.
Katie claimed she suffered "chronic thoracic pain" resulting from injuries to her facet joint.
Katie demanded that defendant pay $25,000 before trial. Defendant rejected and made no offer. The jury awarded Katie: $15,000 for past medicals, $11,346 in future medicals, $20,000 past pain and suffering, and $25,000 future pain and suffering.
