Not Smart to Drive a Smart Car: Smaller Cars Ruling Lead to Deadlier Car Accidents
A Federal Appeals Court held that the 27.5 miles per gallon [mpg] standard smaller cars “kills people.”

As the government pushes for greater mpg, there is a cost of human lives. Downsizing cars led to an increase in traffic deaths [Harvard Brookings Study].

A new suit by California against the Department of Transportation is demanding even smaller cars because it claims that gas mileage can be a “public health hazard.” However, the science and data prove that smaller cars can kill and injure.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's April 2018 report “Vehicle Size and Weight,” explains the bigger the crash zone, the lower the force on the occupants. Simply stated: bigger cars are safer.

So, don’t buy a Smart Car for your loved ones.
