Plaintiff Leffal stopped for a fire truck but defendant’s car crashed into the rear of his car. Defendant argued that Leffal used excessive medical care.
Plaintiff Leffal introduced into evidence that he suffered back, neck and chest injuries requiring chiropractic care.
Leffal demanded $34,999.99. Safeco offered only $9,500. The jury awarded $35,000.
Safeco will now have to pay court costs for the 5 day trial. Congratulations to Dr. Joo Y. Kim DC of Montclair.

In the last 10 years, some 15 chiropractic treated patients had jury trials. 14 ended in favor of the plaintiff; 1 for defense.
Awards ranged from $357 to $1,285,740.
Seven cases involved multiple DCs.
