PI Guru Lewkovich Speaks: Help patients get better sleep following MVA trauma

15 Arrested Chiropractors Named by Los Angeles DA
47-year-old Yuri Chernega, DC of Studio City was arrested as the ringleader of the 15 DCs for insurance fraud and kickback scheme involving PI claims. In addition, he was charged with failure to file income tax returns and money laundering. Chernega offered to refer new PI patients to other chiropractors in return of an illegal referral fee from 2015 to 2018.

Chernega faces a maximum sentence of 18 years and nine months in state prison if convicted as charged. Prosecutors requested that his bail be set at $325,000.

The alleged co-conspirators with their recommended bail and possible maximum prison sentence are:

  • Michael Milman (dob 3/26/66) of Beverly Hills: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • John Sherf (dob 8/28/75) of Sherman Oaks: $200,000 bail, 18 years and six months in prison

  • Jae Ho Park (dob 4/26/68) of Coto de Caza: $225,000 bail, 11 years and six months in prison

  • Danush Haghani (dob 1/9/73) of Yorba Linda: $225,000 bail, 11 years and six months in prison

  • Kamron Nourgostar (dob 7/15/83) of Irvine: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • David Wayne Ginoza (dob 5/15/64) of Torrance: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • Alan P. Grubstein (dob 2/27/50) of Rancho Cucamonga: $225,000 bail, 11 years and six months in prison

  • Kamiar Riahi (dob 8/8/74) of Woodland Hills: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • Sam Amirmoazzami (dob 12/11/73) of Encino: $225,000 bail, 11 years and six months in prison

  • Robin Stacy Long (dob 5/19/68) of Newhall: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • Ramin Lavi (dob 7/21/63) of Chatsworth: $225,000 bail, 11 years and six months in prison

  • Gustavo Adolfo Nino (dob 3/17/64) of Pasadena: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • Nahid Haji Acs (dob 2/23/57) of Rancho Cucamonga: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

  • Victoria Davidovsky Lucas (dob 9/1/68) of Pacific Palisades: $200,000 bail, 10 years and six months in prison

The case remains under investigation by the District Attorney's Office Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the California Department of Insurance, the California Franchise Tax Board, the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the National Insurance Crime Bureau. 
ACE LIT TIPS
Most of your current patients will have a car accident in the next 7 years according to the Department of Highway Safety in California. Well before your patients ever have an accident, they should be counseled today to check their auto insurance policies for adequate med pay coverage of at least $5000 to $10,000. The cost is generally no more than $10 dollars a month. 

Med pay can be one of the least expensive additions to a policy. Good med pay gives your patient the quality care they need after an accident (and getting you paid quickly and efficiently). Most important, med pay gives the patients the freedom to see their favorite chiropractor (YOU!)
Getting paid for PI is better than not getting paid!
Debra Pommerenck is the lion for the front office. She regularly gets paid from shady attorneys, but it costs her time. 

Here are two pictures where she got paid 100% on a recent case [guess who?] and another case with the PI attorney who came up short. She sued and collected from that attorney in small claims.

Gallup: One in Four Adults Sought Care for Neck/Back Pain
Did you notice a dramatic upsurge of new patients last year? Why not? Over 50,000,000 million adult Americans sought care for their neck or back pain.

According to Gallup, 65% of all US adult sought care for their back in their lifetime. In the last recorded year alone over 25% sought care for their back pain. 

But how many new patients saw chiropractors or acupuncturists? Not enough. 

Most Americans saw health care specialists last year:

  • Medical - 54%
  • Chiropractor - 28%
  • Massage Therapist - 7%
  • Physical Therapist - 6%
  • Acupuncturist - 1%
  • Someone else - 1%
